Participating the meeting, there were Prof. Dinh Van Phong, Vice President of HUST, Prof. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector of CTU, Prof. Nguyen Quang Linh, Rector of Hue University, leaders representatives from Vietnamese partners and Assoc. Prof, Thomas Crispeels, VETEC coordinator, Prof. Jan Cornelis, VUB Emeritus professor, and other representatives from TUD, UA and VETEC trainees members in workshop.
The main content of the meeting is to update on the current stage of the Project & major deliverables. update of KTT models from HUST, CTU and HU teams, discussion on KTT models & KTT networks at VN partner HEIs on strategies, challenges, suggestions.
After presenting current KTT models by CTU - Assoc. Prof. Le Thanh Phong, HUST - Dr. Truong Duc Phuc, HU - Mr. Tran Vinh Phuong, Prof. Jan Cornelis also raised some questions on KTT ownership, financial returns to TTO. Moreover, Vietnamese Universities should go beyond the success stories, process should have been continuously acting; and building research – technology platform inside university with multi-discipplinary fields will be better offered. The last comment was that developing TTO in faculty would not be valuable and central TTO in university would support the best and KTT ecosystem will be good to be considered in Vietnamese university.
Three leaders from Vietnamese universities also discussed more on research and technology transfer situations and challenges in Vietnam and expect our project could support and share more experiences to enhance our KTT understanding and implementation.
